"Ideal venue for a group of golfing friends"

Impressive historic building with magnificent hall and public rooms. Convenient location on edge of Tain - easy walking distance to a variety of restaurants. Ideally placed to drive to so many wonderful surrounding golf courses. Comfortable, clean rooms. Very friendly staff. Decor dated, but reflected in price

We were transferred.to the Morangie Hotel as the Mansfield had heating problems. The Morangie was as I remembered it from past years visiting with my parents (too many years ago to own up to!).The staff were awesome nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely a real treat.

Breakfast was excellent. Staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Quiet location, beautiful old mansion. Highly recommend Mansfield and would certainly stay there again.

The breakfast was outstanding - one of the best breakfasts over a 6 week tour of Scotland/England/Ireland! The atmosphere and setting majestic!

"Luxury"

Well appointed spacious room fitted out in period room. Modern well equipped bathroom. Excellent friendly checkin. Restaurant not open in night but they offered chauffeur driven Range Rover car down and back to castles sister hotel.Breakfast was lovely.Very comfortable bed.

Breakfast was tasty with good selection of food. The dining room was classy and service was great.

"Lovely hotel"

The building is beautiful as you come up the drive and is stunning when you step through the door , the hotel’s history was interesting . The lady at reception was very friendly , polite and helpful . The room was very comfortable. No kitchen/ cooked meals available but was told we could go to the other hotel for our evening meal. We had a lovely nights sleep . We chose to have a continental breakfast and was happy with the selection and quality.

"Excellent value in characterful hotel in excellent convenient location"

Hotel was excellent value and an ideal central location for 8 golfers playing the many wonderful courses in the area. Building was characterful and handsome. Although rather faded, rooms were comfortable and good value for money. Evening dinner in hotel on evening when we arrived was a bit mixed, but hotel easy walking distance of some really excellent restaurants in Tain. Staff very friendly and cost represented excellent value both compared to luxury hotels in area and more standardised offers.

"A real charmer in a lovely area"

Lovely venue, very obliging and generous staff. Room was great.Couldn’t have been more helpful. Helped arrange dinner and supplies transport. Well stocked bar showcasing whiskeys of the broader region.Breakfast was sumptuous.Staff were quite remarkable/ kept checking in- really understand a service culture.It would be a pity that a place with such character may not be sustained in the future due to mounting maintenance costs. It’s a great place which deserves clientele who appreciate it, we’ll be back if we can
